A big thank you to all those who made this possible
Also a special thank you to Sue Cleaver (From Coronation Street) who helped Liam and Callum on the night.
Liam and his brother Callum, had the great privilege and pleasure in meeting the Royal Marine,
Lance Corporal Matthew Croucher (George Cross) who saved the lives of other Royal Marines by throwing himself on a handgrenade which subsequently exploded.
Along with the legendary Harry Gregg (Manchester United)
None of us realised Harry's role in trying to and succeding in saving so many people from the plane crashthat killed many journalists, fans ,crew and Manchester United footballers in the 60's ,like Matthew he is a true hero.
Another hero,in a different way is Richard Taylor,a man who I respect and hold in great esteem for his community work,in improving the lives of so many people in London. This he did this following the murder of his son Damilola aged only 10 years.
The Damilola Taylor Trust continues his work.

You have helped to raised over £360,000 ! Thank you
Over £100,000 last year, was just been raised in a few weeks, with the kindness of donations to a Direct Mailing Case study based on Liam coordinated by CLIC Sargent
Liam was diagnosed with a synovial sarcoma of the left thigh in early 2005 aged just 10 years. This cancer had affected his left leg and his lungs.
Liam underwent numerous chemotherapy treatments at Addenbrookes hospital in Cambridge, major surgery under Mr Grimmer at the Royal Orthopedic hospital in Birmingham, followed by further chemotherapy and radiotherapy back at Addenbrookes.
He has since had several major lung operations.
Liam decided whilst in hospital at Birmingham that with Mr Grimer having saved his leg and his life, that he was going to give something back.He knew he could not walk or run,but having read about sponsored swims to raise money in an article by STARLIGHT ,and decided he was going to swim a mile!
After his operation in October 2005 he underwent chemotherapy and radiotherapy at Addenbrookes .During all the traveling we listened more and more to Star 107 .Here presenters including Andy Gall (now with BBC radio Cambridge) invited him over to the studio which was a real morale booster.
Liam has received great coverage from BBC LookEast , Anglia TV and BBC Radio Cambridge to whom we are very grateful
This marked the start of a long positive relationship with Star 107 for Liam and his family. Due to their work on Liamsmile swim,Star 107 were awarded two major Radio Awards
A week after my twelve birthday(2007) I was rediagnosed with lung cancer.Later on despite a major operation on both lungs the cancer returned, now I have had more major surgery in December 2007 and then in April 2008 I lost part of my right lung.
Throughout the treatment both Star 107(Mark Peters) and BBC Radio Cambridge (Jeremy Sallis) have worked together to help raise a tremendous amount of money for CLIC Sargent.
Liam has now celebrated his 13th Birthday thanks to those who have helped support him and not forgetting the surgeons skills (Thank you Mr Samuels and Mr Grimer plus their colleagues)

Liam has been fortunate enough to meet and keep in contact with Gordon Brown PM and his family
He also met Professor Stephen Hawkins in Cambridge (2007)
One of the Princes' at a Diana Award meeting at Wembly
